Flexible ISM radio technology for comprehensive alerting, localisation and monitoring

ISM radio components ohneHeaderThe CoSi ISM radio components form a versatile and powerful platform for modern emergency call, security and monitoring solutions. All components operate in the globally licence-free 2.4 GHz ISM band and enable reliable, energy-efficient communication between transmitters, sensors and receivers.

A wide range of radio components is available for manual and automatic alerting. For emergency situations, both mobile and stationary transmitters are available, enabling people in need of assistance to request help quickly and easily at any time. A prime example is the FuFi-smart-ISM mobile emergency transmitter, which, in addition to the standard emergency button, also features an optional fall detection function. This means that critical situations can not only be actively reported but also automatically detected.
The system is complemented by numerous sensors that react independently to events. These include, amongst others, smoke and temperature detectors for early hazard detection, as well as specialised detectors in care settings. These detect, for example, when people at risk of falling attempt to leave their bed, or alert staff if people enter unauthorised areas. Traditional security applications are also supported: door and window sensors reliably detect opening and closing operations, thus enabling seamless monitoring of sensitive areas.

Specialised wireless solutions are available for specific requirements. The FuFi-bark-ISM, for example, is used within CLAS to localise objects and devices in buildings. It begins transmitting automatically as soon as it is moved, allowing the position of the object to which it is attached to be pinpointed. Like the FuFi-smart-ISM, this transmitter also supports height measurement and floor detection within a CLAS emergency call solution.

Another specially developed component is the FuFi-pad-ISM, which was designed specifically for people with severely limited mobility. The large activation surface allows for easy emergency call triggering, for example with the arm or by lightly touching it with the hand. The product can also be used to trigger an emergency call from a bedspread.
Special dementia transmitters are worn on the body to monitor the movement of disoriented individuals.

ISM wireless technology can be flexibly integrated into various infrastructures. Wireless alarms can, for example, be transmitted directly to SeCom emergency call systems or to various light call systems.

Alarms are reported to a CLAS server via SR-ISM Wi-Fi gateways using Wi-Fi or a MESH network. This allows existing installations to be easily expanded or new systems to be set up quickly, simply and cost-effectively.

For applications requiring extended radio range, the ISM components can be seamlessly combined with LoRa-based systems. Via the ISM-LoRa gateway, alarms are transmitted over long distances and reliably signalled, for example, by the LoRa alarm receiver. This creates a continuous alarm chain – even over distances of several hundred metres or kilometres.

One advantage of the ISM radio transmitters lies in their flexibility of configuration. Customers can individually configure the ISM transmitters themselves via a CoSi app. Among other things, this allows the transmission power to be adjusted, special functions to be activated, or live messages to be configured and their transmission intervals set. In this way, the system can be optimally adapted to the respective requirements.

Thanks to the combination of versatile sensors, long transmitter battery life, flexible integration, long range and simple configuration, CoSi ISM radio components offer a future-proof solution for a wide variety of applications – from home care and residential care facilities to technical and safety-related applications.
